Industry Experience
Shawn Marie Higgins, owner of Montana Equine Insurance, LLC. is a licensed agent in the State of Montana, however her insurance products are offered through Northwest Insurance Agency providing coverages throughout the United States.
Shawn is a 3rd generation insurance agent with her insurance experience dating back to childhood working in the mailroom of her father’s insurance agency. Over the years of her service at her father’s insurance agency and working as a consultant in the corporate world independently, she was taught to not only bring great service to insurance clients, but build lasting relationships with trust in good service. Initially her insurance experience started in health & life insurance and after raising her young children she found herself looking for a change. Now offering equine insurance, Shawn feels that she has finally aligned with a passion for helping horse owners secure coverage for equine facilities, ranches, clubs/events, and animals. Her property and casualty insurance experience ranges from auto, home, travel, and equine related products. Shawn fully understands the value of insuring personal property and believes insurance services shouldn’t stop after the coverage is bound.
Shawn plans to bring added services to her clients with a goal of helping them manage the health and safety of the equines they own or train, keeping facilities safe, and staying connected with clients to bring the best services.
Equine Experience
Shawn Marie, like so many of her clients, loves horses and everything they can offer the human/horse relationship. She has been riding since the age of 7 years old and has experience with both the English and Western disciplines.
Right now her personal life entails focusing on training her own horses and helping her family enjoy riding. Her 9 year old daughter Willow is active in the local 4-h horse program and her 7 year old son Everett is just beginning to ride. She’s the active Secretary in the local Blue Sky Ridge Riders Saddle Club in Tobacco Valley, has hauled horses as a commercial business across the United States, and currently runs a boarding stable Scenery Hill Equine, LLC. in Eureka, Montana. She stays busy with her horses and homeschooling her two young children Willow and Everett Higgins.
